After graduating from college, I started my career in the financial services industry working mainly with seniors as a registered representative offering different types of investment products.  It was then that I realized how much I enjoyed working with the senior population.  I worked in that field for a few years before deciding to take some time off to have children and raise my family.  

Through the years, I continued to work in the financial services industry, working at various positions in banking from general ledger bookkeeper to loan servicing representative, and finally in-house auditor.  Banking allowed me to work flexible hours while my children were still living at home.  During this time, I had heard of reverse mortgages but knew very little about them.  I started reading and studying reverse mortgages.  The more I learned about this type of mortgage, the more I wanted to be a part of the reverse mortgage industry.  I thought what a wonderful fiancial tool for seniors!  The reverse mortgage would not only eliminate existing mortgage payments, it could also be used to pay off other debt, increase monthly cash flow and allow seniors a more comfortable life with great peace of mind.  An added benefit (and many seniors would say, most important) is the sense of independence the reverse mortgage provides seniors by allowing them to remain in their homes.  

Once my children left for college, I went to work full-time only this time as a reverse mortgage specialist.  That was eight years ago!  Of all the positions I have held in financial services through the years, working with the senior population as a reverse mortgage specialist has truly been the most rewarding part of my career. I have been so blessed to be able to help so many seniors realize a better quality of life with a reverse mortgage.  

The concept of a reverse mortgage is often misunderstood. I am on a mission to educate seniors, their families, and my professional business partners on how reverse mortgages work in an effort to have this product considered as a possible financial planning tool.
